#42: Your Seasonal Wardrobe Changeover
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We're back for 2026 and into a Melbourne winter! In this first episode of the year, I walk you through my seasonal wardrobe changeover: the exact process I use to make sure my wardrobe still reflects who I am, serves the life I actually live and makes getting dressed easier, not harder.
I share why I revisit my wardrobe every season, the honest questions I ask myself before letting a piece go (including my "wear it for a day" test — and the skirt it recently helped me part with!), and how to do a light wardrobe cleanse without the overwhelm. I also talk through why more clothes usually isn't the answer sometimes you just need fresh ideas for the pieces you already own.
Then we get into the pieces worth having for the season ahead: the coat, the jacket, your layering basics, and the boots that will carry your whole autumn/winter wardrobe plus how to tell when to invest and when to keep it high-street.
Whether you're refreshing your look or feeling a little disconnected from your style, this episode will help you step into another season feeling intentional, confident, and completely yourself.
In this episode:
- Why your wardrobe should evolve as you do
- The two questions to ask before every seasonal changeover
- The "wear it for a day" test for pieces you're unsure about
- Why too much choice makes getting dressed harder (the jam-at-breakfast analogy!)
- Clearing seasonal clutter to see what you really need
- The four winter pieces worth focusing on: a great coat, a classic jacket, layering basics, and versatile boots
- When to invest vs. when to shop the trend
- Using texture to add interest to winter outfits
